My Cover:

Cinder Cover

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Why I’m Crushing:

I have always loved this cover for Cinder since the first time I caught a glimpse of it.  It really caught my eye and made me want to know more.  The rich, solid red and blue colors make the cover very striking.  My favorite thing about the cover is how you can see the mechanical skeleton of the cyborg foot, and I also love the title font, very futuristic and curly.  This was one of my absolute favorite reads of last year and I recommend it to anybody who like science fiction and even those who aren’t fans of it because I don’t read much sci-fi either.  Beautiful cover and wonderful book!  Link up below and show us those gorgeous covers 🙂

This week’s cover crazy is Touching the Surface by Kimberly Sabatini.  I find this cover incredibly beautiful with its cool purples and the little blue paper birds that stand out against it.  The way her hair is swinging and the way the paper birds are, you can feel the motion in that moment.  Gorgeous!

Life altering mistakes are meant to alter lives…

When Elliot dies for the third time, she knows this is her last shot. There are no fourth-timers in this afterlife, so one more chance is all she has to get things right. But before she can move on to her next life, Elliot will be forced to face her past and delve into the painful memories she’d rather keep buried. Memories of people she’s hurt, people she’s betrayed…and people she’s killed.

As she pieces together the mistakes of her past, Elliot must earn the forgiveness of her best friend and reveal the truth about herself to the two boys she loves…even if it means losing them both forever.

This week’s cover almost made me drool it’s so lovely!  Course I’m a sucker for faeries anyway.  The dark colors make the woman very mysterious and the mask in her hand give a very masquerade feel, and I love masquerades!  I’m determined to go to one some day 🙂 This artist did a super fantastic job on this image!  The font is also very eloquent.

 Avalar isn’t real.

At least, it wasn’t supposed to be.

Aubrey never expected to fall in love with and marry her graduate writing professor Jullian. His life’s work, a grim fantasy titled ‘A Thief of Nightshade’ encompassed everything Aubrey hated about fairy tales and make-believe.

After Jullian goes missing and is eventually presumed dead, Aubrey discovers just how make-believe the world of ‘Nightshade’ is …
Not only is Jullian alive and well in Avalar, he’s at the mercy of the Dark Fae, condemned to a fate worse than death, with no memory of Aubrey or his time in her world. In order to save him, she’ll have to confront more than just the demons in her past, but the very real ones that await her in a place she never thought could exist.

All of them will do everything in their power to stop her.

This week is the cover to Just for Fins by Tera Lynn Childs.  I am super excited about this book!  Her first two, Forgive My Fins and Fins are Forever, made it onto my Favorite Reads page, so I’m stoked about the next in the series!  I like all the covers for this series; they are so mermaid-y!  The colors make me think of the ocean and are perfect for a sea series!  This is the same model from the 2nd book and I think she is a fantastic person for the job! If you like mermaids, you definitely need to check out this series!!

When Lily Sanderson decided to remain Crown Princess Waterlily of the mermaid kingdom Thalassinia, she knew she couldn’t just coast along in the current. But since she’s spent the last couple of years on land—with gorgeous human Quince by her side—Lily’s not sure she has the fins to lead a kingdom. Even her maddeningly pretentious cousin Dosinia seems to know more about ruling than she does.

But Lily has to dive in deep to keep her promise to Tellin, her mer bond in name only, whose kingdom is suffering in the changing ocean climate. Lily knows this is a seven seas–sized problem: from sea animals dying to oil spills and threats to humans. They’ll need to create some serious waves to make the mer community aware and get it to join together to make things right. Even if that means facing one of the iciest queens in the mer kingdoms.

Just when Lily thinks her double life on land and sea can’t get any more complicated, an ancient mer law might separate Lily and Quince after all. It feels as if the pair is up against a solid tsunami wave!

In this third installment in the series that began with Forgive My Fins and Fins Are Forever, Lily will have to find a way to balance safety and justice for the mer people as well as for the humans she loves

For this week’s Cover Crazy I chose Ascend, which is book 3 of the Trylle Trilogy.  Once only ebooks, this series will now be hitting the shelves come this January, and I hear they are really great books!  All three covers are lovely, but this one was my favorite because of the way the red stands out against the green hues of the rest of the cover.  Gorgeous!!

This week’s cover Crazy is Luminous by Dawn Metcalf.  When I saw this cover all I could say was OOOOOOO.  It is such a beautiful cover with the vivid colors and the numerous butterflies.  So gorgeous!

As reality slips and time stands still, Consuela finds herself thrust into the world of the Flow. She is joined by other teens with extraordinary abilities, bound together to safeguard a world they can affect, but where they no longer belong.

When murder threatens to undo the Flow, the Watcher charges Consuela and elusive, attractive V to stop the killer. But the psychopath who threatens her new world may also hold the only key to Consuela’s way home.

This week’s cover crazy is: Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey.  I think this cover is very well done and beautiful.  The red of the dress stands out so well against the gray background, and the way her dress is made of petals and falls apart  is brilliant.

Lenzi hears voices and has visions – gravestopnes, floods, a boy with steel gray eyes.  Her boyfriend, Zak, can’t help, and everything keeps getting louder and more intense.  Then Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams , who reveals tht she’s a reincarnated Speaker – someone who can talk to and help lost souls- and that he has been her Protector for centuries.

Now Lenzi must choose between her life with Zak nd the life she os destined to lead with Alden.  But time is running out: a malevolent spirit is out to destroy Lenzi, and he will kill her is she doesn’t make a decision soon.

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme hosted by The Book Worms in order to showcase book covers that we think are very eyecatching and beautiful.

I know the book I chose for this week’s Cover Crazy doesn’t come out for another 5 months, but when I saw it I had to put it up for this week.  I just read the first in the series, and when I was looking it up on Goodreads, I fell in love with the cover of the second one.  It is a huge difference from the dark red colored cover of Bloodlines, but I like the cover for The Golden Lily even more!  I love the swirling vines of lilies around the title.  How could I not?  Lilies are my favorite flower!

Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students—children of the wealthy and powerful—carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead’s breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme hosted by The Book Worms in order to showcase book covers that we think are very eyecatching and beautiful.  This is my first time participating on Cover Crazy.  I think the cover I chose is very lovely, as are the first two in the series.

The cover to So Silver Bright is so lovely!  I like all three of the covers from this series & I think the artist is fantastic.  The fairies actually look like they are glowing.  The colors fits so well together and she stands out beautifully with all the white.  Love it!
