Fairest Animated Cover

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,

Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story—a story that has never been told … until now.

Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from WINTER, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.

Why I’m Crushing:

How awesome is this cover??!!  I love love love animated covers!  I already thought it was pretty great when I first saw it, but the animation really puts it over the top.  The way she moves slightly is pretty creepy, especially with that skeletal looking crown.  I also really like the beautiful burning frame and how it says “Queen” like it is showing the destruction to come.  At first, I wanted the cover to match the first 3 with the red and blue, but then I thought about the fact that it is Levana and she is pure evil, so she really doesn’t deserve the same kind of covers as our heroines.  I am so very excited about another Lunar Chronicles book and I can’t wait to read it!  What do you guys think of this cover and the new addition to the Lunar Chronicles?

My Cover:

Plus One Cover

Divided by day and night and on the run from authorities, star-crossed young lovers unearth a sinister conspiracy in this compelling romantic thriller.

Seventeen-year-old Soleil Le Coeur is a Smudge—a night dweller prohibited by law from going out during the day. When she fakes an injury in order to get access to and kidnap her newborn niece—a day dweller, or Ray—she sets in motion a fast-paced adventure that will bring her into conflict with the powerful lawmakers who order her world, and draw her together with the boy she was destined to fall in love with, but who is also a Ray.

Set in a vivid alternate reality and peopled with complex, deeply human characters on both sides of the day-night divide, Plus One is a brilliantly imagined drama of individual liberty and civil rights, and a fast-paced romantic adventure story.

Why I’m Crushing:

This is just such a perfect and beautiful representation of this story!  Both sides are incredibly gorgeous and I love the soft color scheme.  There is a lot of detail that went into this cover and I love love love the night side with the lovely stars.  I also like how the title is the reverse of the night and day.  This story sounds incredible and I really want to read it and I’m glad this gorgeous cover drew me to it!  What do you guys think?  Feel free to share any covers you might be crushing on!

My Cover:

Tiger's Promise Cover

Before the curse, there was a promise. A prequel to the bestselling Tiger’s Curse series, this much anticipated novella recalls the beginning of Ren and Kishan’s story. Before Kelsey there was a girl, raised by a villain, whose love for a hero changed the course of history.

Trapped under the thumb of her abusive and powerful father Lokesh, Yesubai struggles to keep her own magical abilities secret while evading his dark powers. When Lokesh promises Yesubai to the prince of a neighboring kingdom, she becomes the central pawn in his plot to destroy the ruling family and take power for himself. Yesubai is trapped by her father’s threats and desperate to protect the man she comes to love, but she knows that any decision she makes will have dire consequences. As dark forces gather around her, Yesubai must decide if she’s willing to reveal that somewhere deep within her she has the power to change everything.

Why I’m Crushing:

Oh, you guys, this cover!!  This is probably my second favorite cover for this series and I especially love the gorgeous lotus blossom and her purple eyes.  I like how they went with seeing her only in reflection and all the detail that went in to this beautiful work.  It follows nicely with the rest of the series and fits right in.  I’m definitely going to have to have the physical copy of this book!

I know I’ve been missing for a bit, but there is good reason.  I’ll post an update very soon!

Hope y’all like my Cover Crush for this week and Goodreads wasn’t working for me at all, so there is no link with the image this time.  If it works for me tomorrow, I’ll add it in.  Have a fantastic weekend!

My Cover:

Incarnation Cover

In the steampunk world of Victorian London, a beautiful vampire seeks out the author of Dracula–to set the record straight . . .

If one is to believe Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale, Lucy Weston is Dracula’s most wanton creation, a sexual creature of the night who preys on innocent boys. But the real-life Lucy is nothing like her fictional counterpart—and she demands to know why the Victorian author deliberately lied. With Stoker’s reluctant help, she’s determined to track down the very fiend who transformed her—from the sensual underworld where humans vie to become vampires, to a hidden cell beneath a temple to madness, and finally into the glittering Crystal Palace where death reigns supreme.

Haunted by fragmentary memories of her lost life and love, Lucy must battle her thirst for blood as she struggles to stop a catastrophic war that will doom vampires and humans alike. Ultimately, she must make a choice that illuminates for her—and for us—what it means to be human.

Why I’m Crushing:

I really like covers that are more subdued with a pop of bold like this one.  The greys are so soft and it makes it look snowy, then there is the reds of her dress and hair that just screams for attention.  The dress is very beautiful and I love the steampunk elements of the clock gears and how crisp they are.  The cover art is fantastic and well done.  Very beautiful!  What do you guys think of this Cover Crush?  Feel free to link up in the comments if you have a Crush of your own!

Burning Sky Cover

It all began with a ruined elixir and an accidental bolt of lightning…

Iolanthe Seabourne is the greatest elemental mage of her generation—or so she’s being told. The one prophesied for years to be the savior of The Realm. It is her duty and destiny to face and defeat the Bane, the greatest mage tyrant the world has ever known. A suicide task for anyone let alone a sixteen-year-old girl with no training, facing a prophecy that foretells a fiery clash to the death.

Prince Titus of Elberon has sworn to protect Iolanthe at all costs but he’s also a powerful mage committed to obliterating the Bane to avenge the death of his family—even if he must sacrifice both Iolanthe and himself to achieve his goal.

But Titus makes the terrifying mistake of falling in love with the girl who should have been only a means to an end. Now, with the servants of the Bane closing in, he must choose between his mission and her life.

Why I’m Crushing:

I love animated covers!  This one is really wonderful to look at with the hypnotizing firebird.  I also really like the way they were able to make the firebird shine.  The font is a good choice and is very strong but not overpowering from the rest of the cover.  The colors work well together and I like the accent of the feather in the bottom right corner.  This is definitely one of my favorite animated covers!  What do you guys think?  Feel free to link and share Cover Crushes you may have 🙂

My Cover:

Imposter Alt Cover

Can Tessa pose as Madison . . . and stop a killer before it’s too late?

Tessa is a Variant, able to absorb the DNA of anyone she touches and mimic their appearance. Shunned by her family, she’s spent the last two years training with the Forces with Extraordinary Abilities, a secret branch of the FBI. When a serial killer rocks a small town in Oregon, Tessa is given a mission: she must impersonate Madison, a local teen, to find the killer before he strikes again.

Tessa hates everything about being an impostor—the stress, the danger, the deceit—but loves playing the role of a normal girl. As Madison, she finds friends, romance, and the kind of loving family she’d do anything to keep. Amid action, suspense, and a ticking clock, this super-human comes to a very human conclusion: even a girl who can look like anyone struggles the most with being herself.

Why I’m Crushing:

I had the original cover for this book as a CC a while back, then I came across this one, and I love it so much more!  There is little details to this cover that are on the story, such as the necklace and the eye color that goes with the story better than the original story did.  Plus, I liked the washed out feel to it.  I just like it so much more than the first 🙂  What do you guys think of this one?  Feel free to share your own Cover Crush!

My Cover:

The Jewel Cover

The Jewel means wealth. The Jewel means beauty. The Jewel means royalty. But for girls like Violet, the Jewel means servitude. Not just any kind of servitude. Violet, born and raised in the Marsh, has been trained as a surrogate for the royalty––because in the Jewel the only thing more important than opulence is offspring.

Purchased at the surrogacy auction by the Duchess of the Lake and greeted with a slap to the face, Violet (now known only as #197) quickly learns of the brutal truths that lie beneath the Jewel’s glittering facade: the cruelty, backstabbing, and hidden violence that have become the royal way of life.

Violet must accept the ugly realities of her existence . . . and try to stay alive. But then a forbidden romance erupts between Violet and a handsome gentleman hired as a companion to the Duchess’s petulant niece. Though his presence makes life in the Jewel a bit brighter, the consequences of their illicit relationship will cost them both more than they bargained for.

Why I’m Crushing:

This cover definitely reminds me of The Selection covers, but I actually like this one more.  I think it is because of the gem that frames it.  The cover is very sparkly and beautiful and the gem reminds me of both a diamond and a crystal rose and I love how you can see her reflected so many times in the facets.  I like the font and the curls, but I kind of wished they had used a different one since even this makes me think of The Selection.  It is still such a lovely, lovely cover!  What do you guys think of this cover?  Feel free to link up in the comments with any Cover Crushes you may have 🙂

Queen of Zombie Hearts Cover

I have a plan.

We’ll either destroy them for good, or they’ll destroy us.

Either way, only one of us is walking away.

In the stunning conclusion to the wildly popular White Rabbit Chronicles, Alice ‘Ali’ Bell thinks the worst is behind her. She’s ready to take the next step with boyfriend Cole Holland, the leader of the zombie slayers; until Anima Industries, the agency controlling the zombies, launches a sneak attack, killing four of her friends. It’s then she realizes that humans can be more dangerous than monsters; and the worst has only begun.

As the surviving slayers prepare for war, Ali discovers she, too, can control the zombies and she isn’t the girl she thought she was. She’s connected to the woman responsible for killing and turning Cole’s mother. How can their relationship endure? As secrets come to light, and more slayers are taken or killed, Ali will fight harder than ever to bring down Anima even sacrificing her own life for those she loves.

Why I’m Crushing:

I really like all the books in this series, though this one isn’t my favorite (did it have to be pink?) it is still a really great cover and fits well with the style of the first two.  My favorite thing about it of course is the detailed edges with the card suits.   I also like the pop of color and her fierce gaze.  What do you guys think of this one?  I can’t wait to read the 2nd two books.  I really enjoyed the  first!  If you have a Cover Crush, feel free to link up in the comments below!  🙂

My Cover:

Blood Rights Cover

Rebellion has a price.

The lacy gold mapped her entire body. A finely wrought filigree of stars, vines, flowers, butterflies, ancient symbols and words ran from her feet, up her legs, over her narrow waist, spanned her chest and finished down her arms to the tips of her fingers.

Born into a life of secrets and service, Chrysabelle’s body bears the telltale marks of a comarré—a special race of humans bred to feed vampire nobility. When her patron is murdered, she becomes the prime suspect, which sends her running into the mortal world…and into the arms of Malkolm, an outcast vampire cursed to kill every being from whom he drinks.

Now, Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign.

Why I’m Crushing:

I love the detail of this cover!  All the lines and curves and small artistic details.  I’m sure a lot of time went into the making of this beautiful image.  I also like the pops of gold and red among the white and black.  This was a cover that made me say wow and I keep having to scroll back up to stare at it over and over.  What do you guys think of this cover?  If you have a cover of your own, please share in the comments below!

Freak of Nature Cover

Donate Body to Science. Check.
When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.

Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

Why I’m Crushing:

This is a really cool robotic kind of cover.  I like the way her body is mechanically sectioned and that you only see her back and leg, like she is afraid to show us herself because of what she now is.  I also love the color!  Teal is one of my favorite colors and I love how this pops with it.  I also really like the font and how crazy looking it is.  The cover is on the simpler side, so it is okay to have the fancier font.  What do you guys think of this cover?  Have one of your own?  Link up below and share your Cover Crushes 🙂
