White Space Cover White Space
Ilsa J. Bick

Release 2-11-14

Ilsa Bick’s WHITE SPACE, pitched as The Matrix meets Inkheart, about a seventeen-year-old girl who jumps between the lines of books and into the white space where realities are created and destroyed – but who may herself be nothing more than a character written into being from an alternative universe, to Greg Ferguson at Egmont, in a two-book deal, by Jennifer Laughran at Andrea Brown Literary Agency (NA).

Why I’m Waiting:

This just sounds really fascinating!  Imagine how cool it would be to be able to jump into books like that.  This is definitely one I am excited for!  What are you Waiting on this week?

This week I am waiting on:

Cress Cover Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3)
Marissa Meyer

Release 2-4-14

Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

Why I’m Waiting:

Does this one really have to be explained why I’m waiting on it?? This series is definitely one of my absolute favorites (up there with Harry Potter kind of favorites) and I’m at the twitchy point waiting the last two weeks for this one.  This series is so amazing and creative!  I’ve been anticipating this one for a year, can’t wait to finally get it!!

This week I am waiting on:

Infinite Cover Infinite (Newsoul #3)
Jodi Meadows

Release 1-28-14

 DESTRUCTION

FLIGHT
Ana’s exile is frightening, but it may also be fortuitous, especially if she can convince her friends to flee Heart and Range with her. They’ll go north, seeking answers and allies to stop Janan’s ascension. And with any luck, the newsouls will be safe from harm’s reach.

CHOICE
The oldsouls might have forgotten the choice they made to give themselves limitless lifetimes, but Ana knows the true cost of reincarnation. What she doesn’t know is whether she’ll have the chance to finish this one sweet life with Sam, especially if she returns to Heart to stop Janan once and for all.

With gorgeous romance and thrilling action, the final book in the Incarnate trilogy offers a brilliant conclusion to the compelling questions of this fascinating world, where one new girl is the key to the lives of millions.

Why I’m Waiting:

This is one of my favorite series!  I love the writing style and the beautiful scenes and the story is awesome, too.  This will be one of the trilogy enders I am waiting for and I can’t wait to see how everything will be wrapping up.  Thankfully, I don’t have to wait much longer and I’m starting to gt antsy for it.  What are you guys Waiting on this week?

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I am waiting on:

Love Letters to the Dead Cover Love Letters to the Dead
Ava Dellaira

Release 4-1-14

It begins as an assignment for English class: Write a letter to a dead person. Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain because her sister, May, loved him. And he died young, just like May did. Soon, Laurel has a notebook full of letters to people like Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Amelia Earhart, Heath Ledger, and more; though she never gives a single one of them to her teacher. She writes about starting high school, navigating new friendships, falling in love for the first time, learning to live with her splintering family. And, finally, about the abuse she suffered while May was supposed to be looking out for her. Only then, once Laurel has written down the truth about what happened to herself, can she truly begin to accept what happened to May. And only when Laurel has begun to see her sister as the person she was; lovely and amazing and deeply flawed; can she begin to discover her own path.

Why I’m Waiting:

This just sounds so so good.  I just found it two days ago on Lucy’s blog, The Reading Date, and right away I knew I wanted to read it.  It sounds like it will be a good, emotional kind of ride and one that could sink it’s way into my heart.  I can’t wait to read all the letters that she has written to those who have passed!  I requested it on Netgalley, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they let me have it.  What are you guys Waiting on this week?

This week I am waiting on:

Vitro Cover Vitro
Jessica Khoury

Release 1-14-14

A death-defying tropical adventure delivers a frightening message about dabbling with creation from the talented author of Origin.

On a remote island in the Pacific, Corpus scientists have taken test tube embryos and given them life. These beings—the Vitros—have knowledge and abilities most humans can only dream of. But they also have one enormous flaw.

Sophie Crue is determined to get to Skin Island and find her mother, a scientist who left Sophie behind years ago. She enlists hunky charter pilot Jim Julien to take her there. But once on the island, Sophie and Jim encounter more than they bargained for, including a charming, brilliant Vitro named Nicholas and an innocent, newly awoken one named Lux.

In a race for their lives, Sophie and Jim are about to discover what happens when science stretches too far beyond its reach.

Why I’m Waiting:

I really enjoyed her first book Origin, so I am really looking forward to this one.  It sounds really interesting, and kind of creepy, really with the making humans and all.  There is so much to look forward to in this book, like how the Vitros act when they are awoken and what is the enormous flaw??  I loved the imagery in Origin and I know it will be great for a tropical island, too.  Going to be great!  So what are you Waiting for?

This week I am waiting on:

Revelations Cover Revelations (The Elysium Chronicles #2)
J.A. Souders

Release 11-5-3

Six weeks after her arrival on the Surface, Evelyn Winters is no closer to unlocking the memories lost in her subconscious than she was when she first came. Isolated in a strange new society, Evie has only Gavin Hunter to remind her of who she once was.

But even with a clean slate, it’s easy to see that Evie doesn’t fit in on the Surface. And as her differences make her feel more and more alone, she can’t help but yearn for that place she doesn’t remember: the isolated city hidden in the depths of the ocean. Elysium. Home.

But she can’t exactly tell Gavin what she’s feeling. Not when he’s the one who helped her escape Elysium in the first place, and has the scars to prove it. Though the doctors say otherwise, Gavin believes that Evie just needs time. And if her memories don’t come back, well, maybe she’s better off not remembering her past.

But the decision may be out of their hands when Evie’s ever-elusive memories begin to collide with reality. People and images from her past appear in the most unlikely places, haunting her, provoking her…and making her seem not only strange but dangerous.

Evie and Gavin can’t wait around for her memories to return. They’ll have to journey across the Outlands of the Surface to find help, and in the end, their search may just lead them back to the place it all started…

Why I’m Waiting:

I really enjoyed the first book and I look forward to more of Evie’s story and what will happen with her lost memories.  I really like both covers so far and that she has the rose in both.  What are you Waiting for this week?

This week I am waiting on:

The Dollhouse Asylum Cover The Dollhouse Asylum
 Mary Gray

 Release 10-22-13

A virus that had once been contained has returned, and soon no place will be left untouched by its destruction. But when Cheyenne wakes up in Elysian Fields–a subdivision cut off from the world and its monster-creating virus–she is thrilled to have a chance at survival.

At first, Elysian Fields, with its beautiful houses and manicured lawns, is perfect. Teo Richardson, the older man who stole Cheyenne’s heart, built it so they could be together. But when Teo tells Cheyenne there are tests that she and seven other couples must pass to be worthy of salvation, Cheyenne begins to question the perfection of his world.

The people they were before are gone. Cheyenne is now “Persephone,” and each couple has been re-named to reflect the most tragic romances ever told. Everyone is fighting to pass the test, to remain in Elysian Fields. Teo dresses them up, tells them when to move and how to act, and in order to pass the test, they must play along.

If they play it right, then they’ll be safe.

But if they play it wrong, they’ll die.

Why I’m Waiting:

This cover is totally creepy!  I’d like this book to read for Halloween, even though it isn’t a ghost story or traditional Halloween tale, but it has a sociopathic feel to it with what Teo does, and like I said, the cover is totally creepy!  So what are you Waiting for this week?
