Review Policy and Ratings

All reviews here at On The Shelf are honest opinions. Most of what I have to say will be positive, but sometimes they may include negative comments as well (everybody doesn’t like everything), but there will be no author or book bashing. My reviews consist of how I felt during the book, what I liked about the book, what I may not have liked, and my opinions about different points of the book such as characters, plot, etc. I also post my reviews on Library Thing and Goodreads.

Mainly, my reviews are young adult novels, but every now and then, if I really like an adult book and feel it is something I should review, I’ll throw one in as well. I do love to read a lot of books, so I’m not limited to YA only, ya know!

Authors and publishers: I am open to recieving books and ARC copies to be reviewed on my blog, as well as interviews, blog tours, guest posts, and other fun blog stuff, but please YA only. You can contact me at ontheshelfreviews (at) gmail (dot) com. Please do not send requests to my personal email as they will get buried under all of my blog post emails I get from blogs I follow. I have had this happen too many times and am fixing this problem. Any review request emails sent to my personal email will go unanswered as it is only for blog posts and personal mail. I’m not trying to be harsh, just trying to make sure I get all requests to the right place 🙂
